White is black!

“Light is meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error. It is these mingled opposites which people our life, which make it pungent, intoxicating. We only exist in terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash.”
Louis Arago

Partying with a guy who’s PhD in physics, a watercolorist and an artist who prefers oils? Don’t bring up the subject of black and white colours! For they would be telling you that white is not a colour, and black is, or black is not a colour, and white is, or both colours are colours, each offering a proof of his point of view. A fist-fight will be your only way out.

I firmly stand behind Louis Aragon’s quote: no martini – no party no b/w – no drama. Shades of grey? It’s politics, thank you very much, and politics is about lies and half-truths.

I love conflict. Well, everyone does, even if they don’t know it. I also love paradox.

You can find both in this landscape.

“Black Snow” by Igor Pchelnikov (81), a Russian artist, an academic, a man who looks like Santa Claus.
